Think that leadership is a fancy word that is thrown around in boardrooms, or only for you if you’re a CEO? Well let me ask you a few questions...
When’s the last time you:
All of these are examples of leadership. Understanding leadership, what it is, and how it access it allows you to have more money, freedom, and more ease in life. Everything that you’re wanting in your life can be boiled down to leadership question. That’s a bold statement, but as we explore this principle together right now, and at the next Goddess Collective meeting, you’ll understand why.
What stands in the way of you, and what you want, is a matter of you being in leadership.
So, “what is leadership?” you may be asking....
At its very fundamental root, leadership is literally getting someone or a collective from point A to point B. Taking from the examples above, if you’re negotiating a fee on your phone bill, you have a point in time where you have a fee then it gets removed when you are in your leadership. You start off with no client, then acquire one through your leadership, or a much harder feat that really requires leadership - you go from a trashy house, to getting a spouse or a kid to do it for you. In all of these examples there’s a desired outcome, then through your leadership you are able to gather and inspire others around you to execute on the outcome. How you get others to take action, is what truly makes leadership an art form.
The Five Pillars of Leadership
There are five major pillars that define leadership, and five major components to embody as you embark on your own unique leadership journey. They are:
Influence is THE principle that defines good leaders from great leaders. Telling others what to do and have them follow by virtue of fear of punishment or reprimand is not leadership - it’s a dictatorship. Having others follow through excitement for a vision, feeling a sense of ownership and contribution to a vision is leadership. All of the other aspects in these five pillars are content for further discussion.
What about feminine leadership?
We are now in a unique time in which feminine leadership is on the rise. We now are at a time growing in our leading edge as women. A recent study at UC Davis demonstrated that companies ran by women were more green - both in cash flow and in sustainability. There are more female “breadwinners” than ever in the US, and some reports citing that they will outnumber the male .
Having the tools and understanding of how we differ as women in our leadership style, and what truly and uniquely makes a feminine leader is the topic of discussion for our next Goddess Collective meeting.
